Glass Care & Cleaning Instructions

If you have a clear shower enclosure, like millions of homeowners worldwide, you know that water spots can be noticeable. Here are some preventative care methods which Florida Shower Doors recommends.

A soft cloth or wet sponge and the following are the only products you should use in maintaining the life of your glass enclosure. A clean rinse should follow the use of these products.  Please follow the manufacturer’s printed instructions.

Precautions: Avoid abrasive cleaners such as Ajax, Comet, and anything containing Cerium Oxide.  Products containing ammonia are not recommended. Hydrofluoric, Phosphoric Acids are corrosive to glass surfaces and should not be used. Do not use abrasive brushes, razor blades or sharp objects which may scratch the glass.

Squeegee use is always recommended.

Diamon Fusion

Surface Protector

Surface Protector will actually seal the pores of glass to make the surface water, soil, and stain resistant. The clear coating guards against the adhesion and build-up of dirt, grime, mold, mildew, rust and mineral deposits. Simply spray on and polish off.  This product is recommended to help keep glass shower enclosures clean upon installation.

Sprayway or CRL 1973 Foaming Glass Cleaner

Sprayway or CRL 1973 glass cleaners are non-ammoniated foaming glass cleaners, which provide a streak-free shine. They have effective cleaning agents that leave glass sparkling clean.

Windex (non-ammonia)

Windex is one of the proven ways to clean shower doors and it still works remarkably. Spray down the shower doors with Windex and then wipe off with a soft cloth.

Dawn Dish Soap & White Vinegar

Start with Dawn dish detergent to combat the soap scum and follow up with white vinegar diluted in water to dissolve the mineral buildup.

Seventh Generation

The powerful, plant-based formula Seventh Generation glass cleaner cleans to a streak-free shine. This glass & surface cleaner is safe for glass, mirrors, and stainless steel.

Simple Green

Spray Simple Green Lime Scale Remover on your shower door, or apply with a damp sponge or cloth. Immediately rinse the surface. This cleaner will dissolve hard water mineral deposits and soap scum.

Bio-Clean

Bio-Clean is the professional solution to remove soap scum, hard water stains, calcium, mineral deposits and grime on your shower door. Bio-Clean is recommended for a thorough cleaning where a build-up of water spots, soap scum, or grime is noticeable.

Soft Scrub Lemon

Try Soft Scrub Lemon’s Total Bath & Bowl Spray. This product is recommended for a thorough cleaning where a build-up of water spots, soap scum, or grime is noticeable.
